UNSSC welcomes Silke Weinlich as its new Head of Learning and Knowledge Services.

“Silke Weinlich joins UNSSC at a pivotal moment for the Staff College,” said Jafar Javan, UNSSC Director. "Her applied academic expertise will significantly enhance the quality and relevance of UNSSC's learning initiatives."

The appointment comes as the College continues to experience significant growth in demand for its programmes and as it innovates to deliver on the learning needs of the future.

Weinlich’s role will focus on honing learning programmes of the College, which are designed to support the UN system’s capabilities in leadership and management, sustainable development and peace and security.

"With its unique system-wide mandate, the College serves as a lever of change within the UN system, which is confronted with formidable challenges," said Weinlich.

"I am looking forward to the opportunity to contribute to guiding UNSSC programmes, as we strive to enhance and augment the capabilities of UN personnel, entities, and their wide array of partners."

Weinlich brings over 20 years’ experience on issues related to United Nations processes and reforms in various policy fields ranging from peacekeeping and peacebuilding to sustainable development. Prior to her appointment at UNSSC, Weinlich was Senior Researcher at IDOS, the German Institute of Development and Sustainability, where she led a research and policy advice project on the UN development system and its reform needs.
