ABOUT THE COURSE:

"Applying a Conflict-Sensitive Approach" is a face-to-face programme designed to equip humanitarian, development, and peace practitioners with the right skills for integrating a conflict-sensitive approach into their work.

In recognition of the importance of such an approach in achieving and fulfilling the sustaining peace agenda, the course builds upon the Good Practice Note put forth by the UN Sustainable Development Group. It will enable you to translate the guidance into action in your work.

Conflict sensitivity reflects an organization's ability to:

  • Understand the context in which it is operating;
  • Understand the interaction between its interventions and the context,
  • Act upon that understanding to avoid unintentionally feeding further division, and to maximize its potential contribution to strengthening social cohesion and peace.

In short, Conflict Sensitivity looks at HOW we work and WHAT we do.
