Safe and Secure Approaches in Field Environments (SSAFE) for Surge Deployment - April
This three-day programme responds to the demand from the UN system and its partners to train staff who need to be deployed at short notice to volatile areas of the world and need a comprehensive safety and security training.
Introduction
The training curriculum is based on the UNDSS-UNSSC SSAFE standard modules and combines theoretical lessons, demonstrations, group-work, practical exercises and field simulations. It is delivered by SSAFE Trainers certified by UNDSS and UNSSC, who regularly run SSAFE courses at their duty stations. It responds to the demand from the UNDSS and UN system to train staff (mainly from HQ) who need to be deployed over a short notice to volatile and dangerous areas of the world and need a comprehensive safety and security training.
