The UNSSC Executive Coaching programme for Junior Professional Officers (JPO) is dedicated to providing JPOs with valuable insights and practical guidance to enhance their effectiveness in achieving their career advancement goals and aspirations. Through this coaching, JPOs can gain greater alignment, focus, and confidence as they navigate their chosen career paths within the UN system.

Introduction

Coaching is a learning process: it changes the way we observe ourselves and others, or engage in a specific situation. We work on ourselves together with the coach.

The UNSSC Executive Coaching for JPOs package offers the opportunity, space, structure, and crucially the psychological safety, for staff to reflect, contextualise, learn, and grow.

The sessions will cover key aspects of career planning, including exploring career vision, creating a career narrative, reflecting on challenges and relationships, and developing good leadership and management practices. Additionally, it helps JPOs identify their strengths for successful applications and interviews. The coaching aims to provide JPOs with insights that enable them to be more effective in achieving their career advancement goals and aspirations with greater alignment, focus, and confidence.
