Turin is a delightfully walkable city on the River Po, with distinctive arcades along elegant boulevards, grand squares, lovely parks, and good restaurants. This Northern Italian city has a long history of creativity and innovation, as the first capital of the unified Italy and the birthplace of the world’s first hard chocolate, the most important Italian publishing houses, and the best-selling Fiat car. As the capital of the Piedmont region and a hub of contemporary art, architecture and design, Turin continues to progress, reinvent and renew itself while respecting its rich traditions.
