Sara Cortes

As Learning Portfolio Manager of the UNSSC Knowledge Centre for Sustainable Development in the area of RC system and Communications, Sara aims to empower UN staff to better build a common, coherent and results- driven United Nations culture that can deliver on 2030 Agenda.

As a capacity building expert, and former Head of RCO, she has globally provided development support, leadership training and facilitation to UN Country Teams and Resident Coordinator Offices focusing on strengthening inter-agency processes and impact.

She brings over 20 years of professional experience in the UN system and European Union, working for UNDP, UNICEF, UNAIDS, UNESCO, UNOPS, the RC system and the European Commission in different capacities related to communication, coordination and talent development. Ms. Cortes holds a Masters degree in Communications, External Relations and Protocol from the Institut International de Communication de Paris (France), and a Masters Degree in Cultural Management from the Universite Libre de Bruxelles (Belgium). She also holds BA degrees in Communications and in Political Sciences. She speaks fluently English, Spanish, French and Italian.
