Ms. Aida Ghazaryan
Aida Ghazaryan comes originally from Armenia and is the Learning Portfolio Manager responsible for the training, learning, and knowledge management at the UNSSC Knowledge Centre for Leadership and Management. In previous assignments with UNSSC, she served as the Learning Portfolio Manager at the UNSSC Peace and Security Team in Turin (Italy) and Knowledge Centre for Sustainable Development in Bonn (Germany) in charge of learning and training in sustainable development, peace and security. From her service at the UN, she brings to the team field experience. For the previous 18 years, she worked with UNFPA and UNDP at the country and regional levels with a strong focus on Eastern Europe and Central Asia region.
Prior to joining the UNSSC, she worked as a Programme Specialist on Gender at the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Sub-regional office in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Her work has ranged from gender issues, women’s rights, reproductive health and rights, disability rights to trafficking in human beings, as well as country programming both at the country level, technical support, and advice to the country offices from the regional level. She is an International Policy Fellow with the Open Society Institute & Center for Policy Studies in Hungary. She received her BA in Teaching English from Syracuse University (NY, USA); MA in Human Rights from Central European University (Budapest, Hungary), and MA in Philology from Yerevan State University (Yerevan, Armenia).
