Lola Castro

In a career spanning 30 years, Ms Lola Castro has served in the field of international humanitarian development, holding several positions with the WFP in nine countries in Africa and Asia, including Regional Director for the Southern Africa and Indian Ocean States. She is currently the Regional Director for Latin America and the Caribbean Region, based in Panama, since 2021. Prior to joining WFP, Ms Castro worked for UNHCR and with the Spanish Foreign Service in Africa. She is a Spanish national from the Canary Islands and holds a BSc in Political Science and International Relations from the University Complutense in Madrid, and a Master’s in Development and Cooperation from the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation in Madrid.
