Lihong Shen
<p>Ms. Lihong Shen joined the United Nations Department for Safety and Security (UNDSS), Ethiopia in July 2019 Addis Ababa as a Field Security Coordination Officer. She brings with her 13 years of proven security management experience from 7 UN peacekeeping missions. She has served as a Staff Officer of CSA Office at the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) in Tunis and Lybia; Chief Security Operation Center of United Nations Mission In South Sudan (UNMISS) in Juba, South Sudan; Chief Security Officers of the United Nations Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara (MINURSO) in Western Sahara; Chief Security Planning and Training of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) in Lebanon; Head Security Training and Development in Khartoum and FSCO Damazin of UNMIS in Sudan, and D/Contingent Commander of Chinese United Nations Police (UNPO) and OiC UNPOL Induction Training of UNMIL in Liberia. In every UN family duty station, she brought her son with her to see the world. Prior to joining the UN, Ms. Shen served in China for over 15 years as senior police officer in two major cities, Harbin and Guangzhou. She graduated from the Chinese People’s Policer University in Beijing with a bachelor in telecommunication. She also holds two master’s degrees and two postgraduate diplomas, on subjects ranging from Human Resource Management, Software Engineering, Political Economic Administration, and Civic Commercial Law. She has enjoyed learning throughout her life.</p>
