Julius Kramer
Julius is a participation and conflict transformation strategist, serving as Youth, Peace and Security Advisor for the United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNSOM). He advises senior UN leadership and the Federal Government of Somalia to advance strategy and practice for young people´s participation in the country´s peace- and state-building efforts, ranging from local mediation to national political processes. Julius also forms part of the Steering Committee for the Global Strategy on Youth-Inclusive Peace Processes. Prior to this, Julius was a specialist and process facilitator at the Folke Bernadotte Academy (FBA), supporting YPS implementation across the UN, OSCE and Government of Iraq. Julius´ experience also includes the Swedish Government´s Commission for the 2030 Agenda, and various roles in civil society - working on insider mediation in the Great Lakes Region, advocacy towards intergovernmental negotiations, and boards of international NGOs. Julius studied International Law at the Swedish Defence University.
