Powering Sustainability: The Role of Political Incubators in Shaping Our Future

As the world faces unprecedented environmental and social challenges, are our leaders equipped to lead us towards a sustainable future? How can we ensure that our political leaders are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and values necessary to lead us toward a better world?

In this UN Summer Academy Trend Talk, Kimberly McArthur, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Apolitical Foundation, discussed the role of political leadership entrepreneurship, and in particular political leadership incubators or PLIs in bridging the gap between movement leadership and political leadership. The PLE field is driven to equip future politicians for impact, building trust with citizens, reducing polarization, and creating a more diverse and representative political system. 

We also explored the challenges and opportunities of incubating political leadership and how the political leadership entrepreneurship field can contribute to effective governance by strengthening structures and institutions.
