We are pleased to announce the launch of our new online programme ‘Accelerating progress towards health related SDGs for WHO staff'.

The course is the result of a partnership between the UN System Staff College (UNSSC), through its Knowledge Centre for Sustainable Development, and the World Health Organisation (WHO). It is designed to enhance technical advice capacity of WHO staff to support governments and stakeholders in the implementation of the 2030 Agenda, and health-related SDGs at country level. Significantly, the course is the first WHO interdepartmental capacity development initiative. The online learning path comprises seven self-paced modules focused on concrete actions and challenges of WHO staff at country level.

The design process benefited from the creation of a dedicated WHO-UNSSC Working Group. Representatives from WHO headquarters, regional offices, and country teams participated in the working group and provided guidance to UNSSC in the development of the learning path.

UNSSC conducted an extensive review of key WHO resources, and several rounds of interviews with WHO country representatives and colleagues from headquarters, regional, and country offices.

This online learning path complements existing capacity building initiatives and tools for WHO staff on the 2030 Agenda and its SDGs, and marks the beginning of a long-term cooperation between WHO and UNSSC on Sustainable Development learning.
