As we approach the halfway mark of the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the urgency to achieve its ambition and sustainable development goals intensifies. This critical juncture offers not just a moment for reflection on our progress, but a call to redouble our efforts.

The United Nations System Staff College invites sustainable development leaders, UNSSC alumni, experts, and practitioners who are ‘centers of influence’ to apply for the UN Mastermind Groups 2023.

Thanks to the generous contribution of the Federal Republic of Germany, the programme, offered at no cost, will accept five to eight leaders who will embark on a three-month leadership journey.

Testimonials
Luc de Clerck

It was interesting to join forces virtually with UN leaders around the world to find solutions for leadership issues we encounter in our daily practice. Thank you to the United Nations System Staff College and thank you to the participants of this course for the advice related to working with the United Nations, which will certainly be useful in the projects that I implement together with UNFPA in Central and West Africa.

One of the best things about the Mastermind Group is that it brings together leaders from diverse backgrounds and organizations facing common challenges. The one thing that holds us together is our desire to create a better world. Mastermind created a safe space for all of us to brainstorm together.

It was an exciting and innovative initiative for Sustainable Development Leaders to share knowledge and explore opportunities to build back better and accelerate progress to effectively achieve the SDGs within less than 10 years. It was an inspiring journey and a truly innovative leadership lab that leveraged the power of collective intelligence to achieve the 2030 Agenda.

The UN Mastermind helped remove my agency hat to understand better the mission and the challenges of the Resident Coordinators, allowing me to be more responsive and play a positive and empowered role as a UN Country Team member, to lower the cost of collaboration and build greater empathy between colleagues. And just as importantly, the UN Mastermind allowed for a genuine reflection on core UN values and principles that brought participants back to their original motivations for joining the Organization, enabling us to renew our sense of purpose.
